Today: Baby Lapsit Storytime at King at Dr. MLK, Jr. Library. This program is for babies that are not yet walking confidently, and their caregivers.
Baby Lapsit invites newborns, infants, babies, and their caregivers to learn together by strengthening their relationship with each other through stories, songs, bounces, tickles, rhymes, books, and play.
After Storytime concludes, we invite you to Stay & Play! Some special toys and the Storytime librarian will join in the fun, giving babies and parents time to connect. Lapsit Storytime 11:00-11:20am Stay & Play 11:20-11:50am . Free. Attendance limits follow SJPL guidelines.

All everyone seems to talk about anymore is podcasts and how amazing they are. Ever wish you could start one? If you have, let us help you fulfill it by coming to our crash course in podcasting! Learn the ropes, experiment with sound and editing, try your hand at scripting, formatting, and more in this free two-session course.
No experience is required, all you need to bring is yourself and most importantly, your voice and ideas. (High school and middle school students welcome.) Free. Registration required.

Today: Indoor Music and Movement at Dr. MLK, Jr. Lib.
Join us every Wednesday for Music and Movement at the King Library Children’s Room!
This program is best for children ages 2-8 with their caregivers, but all children with caregivers are welcome!
Music and Movement is designed to accommodate a mix of ages and invites the entire family to participate in early literacy activities through songs, rhymes, finger plays, and movement activities. Music and Movement is a fun and interactive experience for the whole family that promotes the joys of learning for all ages. This program is best for Pre-k and early elementary students with their families/caregivers. We’ll move and groove to our playlist (new playlist the first week of each month), then settle down with a story to finish up.
Free, with limited capacity.

Today: Meet the Puppeteers from Disney’s FROZEN at Dr. MLK, Jr. Lib.
Meet the actors who play Olaf and Sven in the Broadway musical of Disney’s FROZEN and the show’s Puppet Supervisor for an exclusive Q&A about how they use puppets to bring Olaf and Sven to life on stage! (Actors will not appear in costume).
Win a Family 4-Pack of Tickets: All attendees will be entered to win a family 4-pack of tickets to the Family Night on Broadway performance of Disney’s FROZEN on Wednesday, Aug 28, at 7:30 PM. One raffle ticket will be distributed to each family upon entrance. Recommended for ages 6+.
