Richard II by African-American Shakespeare Company

Richard II is an imaginative retelling of power, corruption, and fall from grace.

A new modern verse translated by Naomi Iizuka chronicles the drama of King Richard as a memory play, where the drama begins at the end and works its way forward retelling this tragic tale.

African-American Shakespeare Company’s Artistic Director L. Peter Callender brings a fresh take on the oft-told tale of this theatrical masterpiece.

Now one of the most performed shows in America, Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Tony winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and Jojo, a little boy with a big imagination. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. Seussical is fun for the whole family!

Performances will be held March 18, 19, 25 and 26 at 7 p.m., March 20 and 27 at 2 p.m. and will be held in the Mary Louise Mello Auditorium, at the Community Recreation Center (Santa Clara Central Park).
