Today: Happy Birds at Almaden Library
Join us for an exciting performance from Happy Birds! The show will feature parrots performing a variety of incredible stunts.
You will have a chance to see singing Amazon parrots, colorful macaws, and clever cockatoos perform many tricks, including: riding a bike, playing basketball, skateboarding, and talking!
Free. No registration is required. Recommended for youth of all ages and their families. This program has been generously sponsored by the Friends of the Almaden Branch Library.

Today: Teens Reach Meeting at Almaden Library.
Teens Reach is the youth council for the San José Public Library, providing a key way for young adults to build their leadership skills by developing and participating in library activities, as well as becoming library advisors and advocates. For ages 13-18.
Almaden’s Teens Reach group meets monthly on the second Friday with socializing and fun at 4:30 pm. Our in-person meet up plans include: Teen Volunteer Opportunities Election for Advisory Board Community Youth Engagement Games & Activities Snacks Guest Speakers Bring a friend, and learn more about what to expect with volunteering this year.

Join us for this exciting Summer Learning Kickoff program with Mr. SHAP’s interactive balloon twisting and magic show. The show includes a selection of balloons, magic, and humor performed for the entire family to enjoy.
After the show, drop by for some refreshments and information about our summer learning program. Find out what’s going on at the library–what fun activities your family can participate in to learn and grow throughout the summer.

Today: Teen Book Sale at Almaden Library.
Teen volunteers run a book sale for children and teens. Gently-used children series books, picture books, popular paperbacks, and hardcovers are available for purchase at a good price. Come and check out the selection and support your local library.
Proceeds benefit the Almaden Branch Library and Almaden Teens Reach, our local teen volunteer organization.

For the month of May, Almaden Library will open it’s Program Room as a quiet study space after school from 3:00 PM to 30 minutes before closing. Exceptions are Friday May 10 and Monday May 27.
