Today: Create Your Own Comic Adventure for Kids: A Guided Comic Making Game (In-Person) at Alum Rock Library
Get ready for the Graphic Novel Making Contest by trying out your on-the-fly comic making skills with this in-person, guided, solo game.
Based on the “fast and furious” drawing game, Mangaka, you will follow three basic rules, pick a theme set, and draw the start of a comic with two panels. Then in each new drawing phase, continue the story with more themes and even more panels. Each drawing phase is only five minutes so each new phase means you’ll have to draw even quicker than before.
All participants will score their own comics at the end of each phase and will have the opportunity to share.
Supplies needed:
Mangaka Solo Game Pages or 4 pages of blank paper
Pencil & Eraser or Pen
This program can be between 1 to 1.5 hours long. To request an accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act for library-sponsored events, please call 408-808-2000 or email Accessibility@sjlibrary.org at least three business days prior to the event.
Audience: Kids, ages 5-10, pre-Teens, ages 10-12 Source
