Choose from a large collection of books and media, both donations and discarded library items. Proceeds go toward funding library programs, books, and supplies. The Friends of the Alum Rock Branch Library host a quarterly Book Sale to raise funds for the Dr. Roberto Cruz – Alum Rock Branch Library. Check out the large selection of books for all ages and interests. As of March 28th, 2022: It is recommended that everyone (ages 2+) wear a mask indoors. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN BAGS. Book Prices: Regular Priced Items: Hardcovers are $1.00 each & Paperbacks are $0.50 each. Special Priced Items Available $5 Fill Your Own Bag: All regularly priced items. Teachers with School ID (or paystub) get 50% of Fill Your Own Bags Room Capacity: Following Library Safety Guidelines, up to 50 individuals will be allowed to enter the book sale at a time. Entry will be first come, first serve, with the last group entering at 2:50 PM. We ask all those waiting to enter from a line by the double doors that face White Road on the parking lot side of the library. Our local celebration of El dia de Los Ninos, El dia de Los Libros (Children’s Day/Book Day) will link families with young children to diverse books, languages, and literacy resources.
This special storytime will combine, dance, music and movement activities, cultural arts/crafts; and a books giveaway in an event sometimes shortened to El Dia. Both language and music are powerful tools for strengthening families and communities.
This program is geared for children of all ages and their caregivers! Free, with limited capacity.
A limited number of tickets will be distributed at the Information Desk 30 minutes prior to the start of Storytime.
