Lafayette Spring Music Fest

The Student Chapter of the Contra Costa Performing Arts Society is welcoming spring with song!

Talented high school musicians from all around the bay will perform a variety of fun pieces, from classical to pop.

There will also be a button-making station, a balloon artist, and sweet treats from a local candy shop for fun while you enjoy the music! This program is for all ages.

Find Your Fit: Teen Career Day is a wonderful opportunity to gain perspective about different industry careers and network with professionals regarding potential jobs and internships!

This FREE event is open to students in 6th-12th grade. The Youth Advisory Committee is co-sponsoring this event.

10:15 a.m. Professional Career Panel with Q&A
11:15 a.m. Volunteer & Job Fair, Raffle Prize Drawing Professional Career

Panel: Firefighter, Mechanical Design Engineer (Tesla), Women’s Rights Lawyer, City Manager (City of Mountain View), Principal Program Manager (NVIDIA), Scenic Designer (San Jose Opera) and more TBA!
Volunteer & Job Opportunities: California’s Great America, Flying Fish Swim School, Friends of the Mountain View Library, Jefunira Camp, Kodely, Mountain View Recreation, Peninsula Youth Theatre, Shoreline Lake, Steve and Kate’s Camp, Sunnyvale Recreation, Youth Community Service, and more TBA!

On the eve of his thirtieth birthday, an aspiring composer questions his life choices and his career.

Jonathan Larson’s autobiographical musical tells of the sacrifices we make, desperately trying to hold on to our dreams. Celebrating self-discovery and passion, this captivating and energetic piece is a love letter to creativity. MASKS are required for this event.

This performance is 90 minutes long with no intermission and is appropriate for ages 14 and above due to subject matter and mature language. Movie was rated PG-13

Come to Oakland High School to meet HBCU representatives and local employers. Take this time to meet with HBCU College recruiters.

All students will meet and connect with various Historical Black Colleges & Universities recruiters and receive on-the-spot college admission.

First segment — Local students will have the opportunity to enjoy a Greek Step-Show that will showcase various Divine 9 Greek organizations. Following the step-show, all students will have opportunity to participate in our live HBCU Hangout Panel Series that will include special guest speakers and successful HBCU Alumni.

Second segment — All students will meet and connect with various Historical Black Colleges & Universities recruiters and receive on-the-spot college admission. Local companies and businesses will conduct interviews to hire-on-the-spot as well.

The HBCU Pop-Up Tour has revolutionized how students receive insight on college scholarships, financial aid and the overall HBCU experience!
