The Science of Plants features an amazing collection of activities, partner organizations, and rare plants that will blow your mind.

Have you ever heard of plants making music?
Have you seen plants that pretend to be rocks, eat insects, or play dead?
Want to meet a plant scientist or master gardener?
Want to start your personal vegetable garden at the event?
Yup, we will have all the above and more! This is your chance to see and explore the world of plants in person! Meet expert botanists and gardeners. Explore tree rings, strange seeds, and art with plants. Learn about plant anatomy, plant cells, and photosynthesis. With a range of activities and concepts, there will be something for everyone.

Weather permitting, this is a chance to explore stars, planets, and more through Chabot’s historic telescopes. Chabot’s three large historic telescopes offer a unique way to experience the awe and wonder of the Universe. Our observatory deck offers breathtaking views 1,500 feet above the Bay. Three observatory domes house the Center’s 8-inch (Leah, 1883) and 20-inch (Rachel, 1916) refracting telescopes, along with a 36-inch reflecting telescope (Nellie, 2003).
