Get in the holiday spirit and join the festivities as Redwood City’s Downtown Business Group throws Hometown Holidays, a party to celebrate the holiday season, RAIN OR SHINE!
Look for fresh festival areas, more food and craft options, and an upgraded Santa’s Village hosted by the Redwood City Parks & Arts Foundation filled with storytime, cookie decorating, letters to the North Pole, hot cider and plenty of cozy winter feels. We’ll have live performances, a holiday music + community singalong with Sound Union, carnival rides, and a parade that’s stepping things up with bigger features and due to those, a new route. The Caltrain Holiday Train will roll through as part of the fun (though it’s already full for riders this year). And we’ll top it all off with our traditional tree-lighting.

A highlight of the holiday season is always the dramatic lighting of the City Center tree. Join us at City Center Bishop Ranch for our Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony.
Delight in the sounds of the season with performances by the Monte Vista Band and a group of incredible singers, all leading up to Santa’s grand arrival. It’s the perfect way to kick off the holidays, surrounded by good cheer and the warmth of our community. We can’t wait to share this magical evening with you!

Ring in the holiday season with Jack London Square’s annual tree lighting festivities, from 5:45 pm to 8 pm located at the plaza near Plank.
The evening’s two dazzling laser light shows will feature multi-colored laser beams shining in all directions. And no matter what the weatherman predicts for Oakland that evening, just after the laser light shows, Jack London Square will experience the wonder of a beautiful white snowfall as faux snow cascades from the sky to give attendees the full holiday experience.
During the event, attendees will also enjoy taking selfies with Santa, Frosty, and a Christmas Teddy Bear (bring your own cell phone or camera), as well as a Peppermint Princess strolling through the center. Special performances by the non-profit cultural education organization Oaktown Jazz Workshops (OJW) and the Lyric Performing Arts Academy will add to the festive occasion.

Come celebrate the holidays with over 60 musical and animated exhibits, glittering lights, and the 50-foot pixel-lighted tree!
Each year, the two-acre Plaza De Cesar Chavez is transformed into a holiday fantasy. Walk through the enchanted forest of decorated trees with over 40 musical and animated exhibits, glittering lights, and the 60-foot Community Giving Tree. Some of the original displays are housed in one of the largest exhibits, the Lima Train, which includes a melting snowman, caroling mice, and elf woodcrafters. Step inside the 50-foot Christmas tree, enjoy free photos with Santa, nightly entertainment, and holiday refreshments
Don’t forget that Christmas in the Park is across the street from San Jose’s Downtown Ice! Times and events are approximate and may change.
