Get in the holiday spirit and join the festivities as Redwood City’s Downtown Business Group throws Hometown Holidays, a party to celebrate the holiday season, RAIN OR SHINE!
A highlight of the holiday season is always the dramatic lighting of the City Center tree.
This year’s holiday launch event with holiday music from the Monte Vista High School Band, SideNote a cappella singers, the story of The Nutcracker by Diablo Ballet, and Santa’s arrival in his red convertible T-Bird.
After the performances, enjoy visits with Santa and roaming entertainers like jugglers and stilt walkers.

Ring in the holiday season with Jack London Square’s annual tree lighting festivities, from 5:45 pm to 8 pm located at the plaza near Plank.
There will be live entertainment featuring:
– Laser light shows
– Photos with Santa, Frosty, Holiday Teddy Bear and The Peppermint Princess – Special performances by Oaktown Jazz Workshops’ Performance Ensemble and The Lyric Performing Arts Academy
This event is free and open to the public.

Sing along to a collection of holiday tunes with the SF Boys Chorus, just before Santa comes to officially illuminate Ghirardelli Square with Christmas Lights.
Afterward, visit Santa in the Carillon to take a photo and receive a Ghirardelli Chocolate chocolate square.

Downtown San Leandro will transform into a winter wonderland with an evening full of holiday entertainment, games, cookie decorating, interactive arts and crafts for kids and horse-drawn carriage rides.
Holiday movies will be playing on an outdoor screen and Santa Claus will be posing for pictures with little ones at Estudillo Plaza.
The festive night will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with a holiday tree-lighting ceremony at Estudillo Plaza and go until 9 p.m.
