As the world’s largest nonprofit marine mammal hospital and education center located in Sausalito’s Marin Headlands, The Marine Mammal Center is guided and inspired by a shared vision of a healthy ocean for marine mammals and humans alike. Our mission is to advance global ocean conservation through marine mammal rescue and rehabilitation, scientific research, and education. Since 1975, the Center’s staff and remarkable 1,200 active volunteers have been on the front lines of rescuing and caring for sick, injured, malnourished, and abandoned marine mammals.
The Center is FREE and open every day to the public—except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day—from 10 am to 4 pm.
