Create Your Own Comic Adventure for Kids: A Guided Comic Making Game | SJPL |Virtual

Today: Create Your Own Comic Adventure for Kids: A Guided Comic Making Game (Virtual)

Get ready for the Graphic Novel Making Contest by trying out your on-the-fly comic making skills with this in-person, guided, solo game.

Based on the “fast and furious” drawing game, Mangaka, you will follow three basic rules, pick a theme set, and draw the start of a comic with two panels. Then in each new drawing phase, continue the story with more themes and even more panels. Each drawing phase is only five minutes so each new phase means you’ll have to draw even quicker than before.

All participants will score their own comics at the end of each phase and will have the opportunity to share.

Supplies needed:
Mangaka Solo Game Pages or 4 pages of blank paper
Pencil & Eraser or Pen

For teens hoping to hone their creative writing skills, stop by Author’s Corner!

Author’s Corner is a monthly, informal creative writing club to help support Short Edition Authors, teens considering a career as an author looking to get practice and feedback on their work, teens looking to create works to help build portfolios and samples for creative writing programs, or any teen that is working on a piece of creative writing/wanting to practice their creative writing skill. This virtual writing club is hosted by teen volunteers with the support of a librarian and is open to any teen aged 12-18 that is interested in creating a supportive space that encourages creative writing development.
