Today: Everyone Can Create: Flipaclip/Stop Motion Studio at Educational Park Library
This is a program for kids ages 8-14 years old. Everyone Can Create is a beginner’s course on drawing, sketching, and creating on the iPad.
Join us for an interactive animation lab series! Participants will learn basic animation skills, concepts, and create their own short clips using the Stop Motion Studio app on the iPad.
Everything needed for this course will be provided, but you are more than welcome to bring your own personal iPad with the app downloaded. Free. Registration is advised. Drop-in attendees are welcome as long as there is space. Click here to reserve your spot.

Today: STEMMABLE Workshop: Build a Bridge at Joyce Ellington Library.
Work in teams to build the longest bridge using the least materials! Participants will use spaghetti, paper, cardboard, and tape to connect two places while learning to conserve materials through efficient design.

Today: Fabulous Fossils at Pearl Avenue Library.
“Fabulous Fossils” is an engaging workshop about fossil identification and how fossils are formed, and is presented by Science Smart Kids teacher, Ildiko Stennis. Children (age 5 to 12) will observe real fossil samples of some of the following specimens: ammonites, brachiopods, clam, coral, crinoid stem, diatomite, dinosaur bone, petrified wood, shark teeth and trilobite. Children will use photographs and an identification key to learn about these ancient creatures. In addition to the hands-on science activities, children’s books and crafts will be incorporated in the workshop in order to enhance the understanding of the science concepts. Each child will make a sample of a trace fossil to take home. (Estimated time: 45-60 minutes).

Today: SkyPioneers: Remote Control Plane Engineering at West Valley Library.
SkyPioneers: Remote Control Plane Engineering is an engaging, educational experience for children ages 12-14, exposing them to remote control engineering and giving them hands-on experience through the construction of their own remote control plane.

- The program teaches the physics of small remote control planes, how the related electrical components work, and implements the engineering design process throughout.
- The program consists of lectures, experimenting time, and build time for small groups to implement the knowledge they gain while they construct their own remote control plane.
- NOTE: This 4-session program meets on four, consecutive Sundays from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM starting on Sunday, Sept. 29 and ending on Sunday, Oct. 20.
- Pre-registration is required, and registered participants are expected to attend all 4 sessions.
- Please do not register unless your child is able to attend all four sessions. This program is brought to the library by MissionRC.
