Science learning is most effective when combined with an unmistakable “WOW!”
Come to drop-in Science Saturdays at the Randall Museum’s science studio to get enthralled by simple science topics presented through project-based activities. Let’s build a rocket to launch or learn about amazing polymers by making a special type of goo. Most classes produce a fun project to take home and continue the discoveries.
Cost $10 per adult/child combo; $5 per each additional person. Ages 3 and up. Children 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Venture into the Randall Museum’s new live animal exhibit, Wild in California, and join one of the animal keepers in an open discussion about the museum’s wildlife residents.
Learn how the keepers care for the animals and how and where these creatures live in the wild.
Kids and families will meet some of the animals up close and can ask the keeper questions to find out more about their favorites. Visitors can meet a snake, check out a barn owl, or maybe even touch a tortoise.

Join us at Chabot Space & Science Center for Rocketfest, a day dedicated to celebrating the incredible achievements of rocketry. Discover the fascinating world of rockets and the feats of engineering that propel us to send satellites into orbit, study Earth’s upper atmosphere, and eventually send humans to other planets.
There are activities for all ages, including:
The chance to explore a rocket-making kit with San Francisco State University’s Rocket Club,
Participating in a “Ask a Rocket Scientist” Q&A session with Astra, and
Building model rockets with the Livermore Unit of the National Association of Rocketry.
Join us for a fun-filled day featuring multiple hands-on activities throughout the Center and leave inspired by jet propulsion and modern feats of engineering.
Rocketfest ticket prices: $30 for adults, $25 for youth 2-12, $25 for students and seniors, and children under two are free. Chabot members are free.
