From Earth Day to Arbor Day, let’s work together to build a stronger, cleaner, more beautiful Antioch! Join us for our kick-off event happening Saturday, April 20, 2024 to begin our service to the community.
Choose to serve downtown near Waldie Plaza or at the Antioch Water Park before heading to the Antioch Community Center for a volunteer lunch. End the week with us on Arbor Day helping to reach our goal of planting over 100 trees throughout the city!
Ways to Get Involved:
- Register for planting at the Antioch Water Park
- Register for trash pickup in and around Waldie Plaza
- Register to plant trees throughout the city on Arbor Day
- Join in on our #KeepAntiochBeautiful campaign

Join hundreds of your mid-peninsula neighbors for a community-wide day of service to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and Mitzvah Day (a day of good deeds – acts of empathy and kindness) organized by the Oshman Family JCC and Youth Community Service (YCS) in Palo Alto in partnership with the City of East Palo Alto and the City of Palo Alto.

Mitzvah Day Service times: 9:30am – 12:00pm
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Day of Service community gathering and celebration event on Monday, January 15 between 1:00pm – 3:00pm at Mitchell Park Community Center in Palo Alto. This event is a culmination of a day of service throughout the community. The event will feature local youth-led service projects, performances, guest speakers, and information tables presenting local service organizations and community resources.
The morning service day will include intergenerational, hands-on service projects at local organizations; participants will work in small groups on projects addressing issues of poverty, hunger, housing and homelessness, aging, the environment, and more. Open to all ages! Featuring projects for individuals & families. Children under 14 must be accompanied by adults. Mitzvah Day Service times: 9:30am – 12:00pm.

SFJAZZ and Living Jazz present Oakland’s largest civic and cultural event honoring Martin Luther King Jr., as it returns to the Paramount Theatre for its 20th anniversary.
In the Name of Love will honor the vision and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. through the music of Stevie Wonder—featuring great Bay Area musical talents including Aneesa Strings, Kev Choice, PHER, Nona Brown, Howard Wiley, Rhonda Benin and others backed by Oakland’s own Awesöme Orchestra Collective, along with the SFJAZZ High School All-Stars and stellar Alumni, the Living Jazz Children’s Project choral program and more. Join us in celebration and reflection on the life and legacy of Dr. King and the indelible music of Stevie Wonder!
