Visit the San Jose Museum of Art free today in downtown San Jose.

Art lovers can visit the San Jose Museum of Art free the first Friday of the month from 6 – 9 pm. This is a great time for parents and their teens to visit the museum for class projects and events.

During Free First Fridays, the museum has more of a lounge-like atmosphere with live music, drinks, and open galleries. Music starts at 7pm in the café.

Legion of Honor Museum – Free Admission Bay Area Residents

Due to Covid-19, please check site to confirm if reservations are needed.

  • Free every Saturday for Bay Area residents (all 9 counties!). Qualifying counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma.

  • Free the first Tuesday of each month for everyone.
  • Free the first full weekend of each month with a BofA Bank of America ATM, credit or check card.

  • Visitors ages 17 and under always receive free admission to the permanent collection galleries.

Free admission is to permanent galleries and special exhibitions. The Legion of Honor is two-fer.  Admission to the Legion of Honor also gives you admission to the de Young (and vice versa).

Closed Christmas and Thanksgiving, but visit the site to confirm hours and if the museum is open.
