Join us for a day where the Bay Area’s most talented kid-lit authors, illustrators, publishers, sellers, and educators come together to celebrate the magic of BOOKS! Free with admission.
Hosted by Oakland’s beloved educator, Mr. Limata Meet 30+ kid-lit book creators ready to inspire.
- Enjoy captivating stories read aloud by the authors themselves. Watch talented illustrators bring stories to life before your eyes.
- Cheer on the remarkable 8-12 year olds from our Youth Writers’ Workshop, hosted by Melissa Reyes.
- Shop for books by all the participating book creators with Books on B Enjoy play-based and educational activities provided by our community partners.

The Spring Festival 2024 promises a wonderful time to welcome the spring season with your loved ones. Get set for a thrilling egg hunt where you’ll be on the lookout for vibrant eggs brimming with surprises. But wait, there’s more! Our festival has a plenty of activities to ensure everyone has a blast. From getting your face painted to decorating eggs, playing games, engaging in crafts or visiting the vendor booths, there’s something for all ages. Free delicious food and treats will be available too! With a live DJ, golden eggs prizes and more the day will be packed with laughter, happiness, and everlasting memories. We’re looking forward to having you there!

2 Egg Hunts for 2 – 4 Years old at 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm. (Children only participate in one egg hunt)
Egg Hunt 5 -8 Years Old
2 Egg Hunts for 5 – 8 Years old at 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm. (Children only participate in one egg hunt)
Egg Hunt 9 – 12 years
Egg Hunts for 9 – 12 Years old at 1:15 pm and 2:15 pm. (Children only participate in one egg hunt)
