Today: Homework Club at King Library at Dr. MLK, Jr. Library.
Need help with your homework? Students can come to King Library’s Children’s Exploration Room (on the Mezzanine of the Children’s Room) to be coached by volunteers through their assigned homework. Students can get help with their homework in subjects including reading, writing, math, social studies, science, and more! Homework Club at King Library is scheduled for Thursdays each week from 4:00 – 5:30 pm.
Coaching is limited to children in Kindergarten through 8th grade; parents are welcome to remain in the room during the club. The Homework Club does not coach students younger than Kindergarten age; pre-school and younger children without caregiver supervision are not permitted in Homework Club. No registration is required, but please note Homework Club is staffed by volunteers; the student to coach ratio depends on volunteer availability. Assistance in languages other than English may be provided based on volunteer availability.

Today: After-School Homework Help at West Valley Library.
Need help with your homework or a subject in school? Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade can come to West Valley Branch Library on Wednesdays at 4pm* to get free assistance from teen volunteers. Students can get help with their homework/school enrichment or use our Community Room as a space to work on school projects! Assistance in a language other than English may be provided depending on volunteer’s knowledge and availability.
Free. No registration required but depending on volunteer availability, students may not be tutored one-on-one for the whole duration of the program. If necessary, we may refer students to our free e-resource, Tutor.com. *No Homework Help on 10/30, 11/6, or 11/27 due to room unavailability/holiday breaks.

Future Speakers Academy is a program dedicated to providing elementary school students with not only knowledge of public speaking techniques but also speaking skills that will develop them into future leaders. This workshop is a 7-week program which incrementally teaches students how to present themselves in a proper way. Additionally, at the end of each workshop, students are given a chance to showcase their best works that they have written in front of their friends and family while implementing some key delivery techniques! Suitable for children 8-10 years old. The course consists of 7 meetings. If you register, you will be enrolled in the entire 7-week long session. Please make every effort to attend every class.
