I’m on Vacation! How about you?

I hope you had a great Ski Week!  I am still recuperating from a week without the internet!

Some fun activities this weekend – not in the rain – VillaSport Community Day (great play areas and indoor pool), Bass Pro Shop Fishing Clinics, the White Elephant Sale and Free admission to the Asian Art Museum.

Focus On: Silicon Valley Shakespeare

This month CelebrateFamily.us highlights Silicon Valley Shakespeare!  SVShakes provides several free Shakespeare in the Park performances as well as a full season of other shows and summer camp. Registration is now open for summer camp 2018.

Science & STEM Camp Scholarships for Girls of Color (4th-8th Grade)

National Coalition of 100 Black Women is accepting applications for girls in grades 4-8 for their annual science and STEM camps.  
 
The P:SMT sponsorship program is an innovative education/recreation program designed to increase the number of underrepresented/ underserved girls interested in science, math and technology and to encourage them to pursue opportunities and careers in those areas. Who is eligible? Eligible students for the 2018 P:SMT Sponsorship Program are all females of underrepresented and underserved communities, with a focus on girls of African American descent. 
 
All completed applications must be postmarked by March 10, 2018 and a letter of recommendation is required.  Camps range from overnight to 3 weeks

The Creatives Video Awards – Deadline to Enter March 7, 2018

If your child is interested in creating videos, here is their competition. The Creatives, celebrating the people and programs of CreaTV San Jose, is looking for media makers of all ages. The five categories are (click here for category descriptions):

    3. Creative Short
    4. Creative Student – Elementary and Middle School
    5. Creative Student – High School

Eligibility for The Creatives competition:

  1. Entries must have aired on CreaTV San Jose’s channels from January 1, 2016 through March 7, 2018. If your entry has not yet aired, the Entry Form will require you to give us consent to air. Please note that consent to air is sufficient to meet competition eligibility.
