Helping Local Businesses: Hicklebee’s and Paradise Skate

Hicklebee’s Bookstore in Willow Glen is looking for help during this time.  Please consider donating to their GoFundme cause.

Hicklebee’s has been our go to store for books and suggestions for many years.  I will always remember the first time we met Eoin Colfer, author of Artemis Fowl.

Paradise Skate in Antioch is selling gift certificates for up to 40% off.  For more details and purchase, [LINK]
We only have 5-6 roller rinks in the entire Bay area, so please reach out if you can.

If you know of a local business or non-profit, that needs help during this time.  Use this link to share the information.

Plot:  As a young chipmunk, shy, bookish Rockford T. Honeypot had dreams of thrilling adventures across the forest.
However, timid of danger and germs, his only adventures were found in books and his imagination. When his family abandons him after a mistake that destroys their hazelnut business, Rockford sets off on a legendary journey beyond his wildest dreams.

From exploring cuisines with a famous chef, training with ancient warrior monks, flying on giant hawks, finding true love, and much more, Rockford recounts his epic origin story of hardship, perseverance, and fortune.

The Adventures of Rockford T. Honeypot, coming out June 23rd. Age Range: 8 – 12 years, Grade Level: 3 – 6 . [Amazon Link]

Where to Find Meals, Groceries, Diapers, Information
I will keep this info in every newsletter as long as it is needed. Marian

Four things that you can find at the Silicon Valley Strong website:

1)  A meal distribution lookup tool in which residents can enter their address to find free food within 1-10 miles. The site includes meals for kids, groceries, and food for seniors.
2) A resources map, provided by First 5 Santa Clara County, for locating diapers, health center information and food assistance.
3) A Chat Bot to help visitors find what they’re looking for on the site.
4) “Get Internet” button to find low-cost internet and affordable computers in the area. The information includes Comcast’s Internet Essentials plus other special offerings.

SiliconValleyStrong.org is a hub for all types of information from mental health to information on rent, job resources and aid.  The information is available in 8 different languages.
