FreeToday: Teen Speech Contest (In-Person and Virtual) at West Valley Library
Teens 12-18 years old can enter our speech contest for a chance to win prizes! Prize winners must be able to pick up their prizes at a San Jose Public Library location of their choosing. Please read all the contest instructions (opens in a new tab) and then register here. This event will be during West Valley Branch Library’s monthly Teens Reach meeting but you do not have to be part of Teens Reach to enter the contest. For more information about Teens Reach, go to www.sjpl.org/teensReach Please register here to enter the contest and to receive a link and password to this event. Due to limited resources, we can only accept up to 12 contestants. By registering, it means you will enter this contest and be present on May 20, either on Zoom or in-person. If you cannot attend on May 20, please cancel your registration to free your spot for someone else. Contestants can arrive 30-60 minutes early at the Library or on Zoom to test their presentation and/or equipment. This program may run until 5:45 PM. In-person attendees must follow our Safety Guidelines. Attendance capacity at the library will be limited to 40 people, first-come, first-serve, including 12 contestants and staff. Deadline to register is 48 hours before the event. Links and passwords will be emailed before 4:00 PM on the day of the event. If you win a prize, you will be e-mailed after the event to arrange for prize pick-up. Software: This program will be held in-person and online via Zoom.
