What can your child imagine?  The winning artist will receive a $30,000 college scholarship and their school will receive $50,000 Google for Education technology grant.

Each of the 50 state and territory winners will receive a prize.

The 2020 winner was a 5th grader. The age range is K-12 grade. Deadline to enter is March 4, 2022

It’s not Michelangelo for Google

Whatever artwork your child submits, does not have to be “a finished piece” ready to be placed on Google’s home page. There is a team of illustrators and engineers that work with the winning doodles to prepare them for Google’s home page.

The Minimum Scholarship Awarded is $5,000

While the national winner receives:

  • A $30,000 college scholarship
  • A $50,000 technology package for their school/non-profit organization
  • Google hardware
  • Fun Google swag

There are also scholarships and prizes for the four national finalists, plus prizes and swag for state and territory winners.

Kids in grades K-12 Can Enter

For judging, students are grouped in five groups depending upon their grade.

Grades K-3
Grades 4-5
Grades 6-7
Grades 8-9
Grades 10-12

2020’s winner was in 5th grade. It is never too early to begin a college savings account. 2019’s winner was six years old. And no this is not a typo.

How Do I Start?

Not all of us are artists. I can’t even draw a straight line. But Google’s got you covered. There are several exercises on the Doodle for Google site to help you get your kids/students started.
