Bay Area College Fair Calendar

College Fairs Scheduled for the Bay Area May – July

Why Should Students (and Parents) Attend College Fairs?
Read an exert from my Silicon Valley Mom post “College Fairs in the San Francisco AreaCollege Fairs are a great way to connect with a large number of colleges in the least amount of time. Our favorite result of attending college fairs is that we (my son and I) felt that colleges were chasing us as opposed to the other way around.

Another advantage of registering at a college fair is that your child’s information (should you choose this option) is shared with colleges throughout the US so colleges that are looking for students that fit your child’s profile will get your information and can then contact you/them. In this way, your child can learn about schools that they may not have initially considered. So your child should register for the fairs even if they cannot attend. Click here to view the entire post

$15 Gets You 26 Classic Sci Fi and Fantasy Books and Audiobooks

Humble values the bundle at $318.  I recommend the bundle because the books range from elementary (My Teach Fried My Brains) to adult (Robert Asimov’s Robot Visions).

With summer approaching fast, this could be a great way to keep kids interested in reading.  Also audio books are FANTASTIC for travel. My family listens to audio books whenever we travel. For example, the Artemis Fowl audiobook is 5+ hours long.  And that is just book one of a seven book series. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone  is 8+ hours and A Wrinkle in Time is 6+ hours.
You can listen to a sample of Artemis Fowl, Harry Potter or Wrinkle in Time on Amazon.com.  Just click on the link above and then press Audible Sample under the book image.
