An entertaining and educational showcase of Black ancestry, culture and contributions by Tabia African-American Theatre Ensemble of San Jose.
From the Eyes of Mary McLeod Bethune, conceived by Sharon Moore and directed by Viera Whye is a vivid depiction of the epic march of Blacks from slavery to freedom. Bethune (1875-1955), was a pioneer educator, government official, and founder of Bethune-Cookman College.
Celebrate and honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. weekend with dinner and a show! Doors open 5:00pm Ample parking (and the main entrance) is down the driveway, behind the building. Families can take the Caltrain NorcalMLK Celebration Train for free to participate in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day March in San Francisco. The train stops in San Jose, Palo Alto, San Mateo, and Millbrae.
Attendees who RSVP will receive a complimentary ticket worth a free return trip after 1 p.m.
The ride is free and registration is required to reserve a ticket.

The 2025 theme is “Generations United for the Dream”. This special event will take place at the San Jose State University in the Student Union Ballroom and will feature a keynote address, panelists, performances, and presentations from local and regional leaders.
