Visit the San Jose Museum of Art free this evening in downtown San Jose.
Art lovers can visit the San Jose Museum of Art free the first Friday of the month from 6 – 9 pm. This is a great time for parents and their teens to visit the museum for class projects and events.
Dancers from New Ballet’s professional dance company will return once again to SJMA to present selections from the 2025–26 season, including the company’s upcoming Halloween Gala and Fast Forward, an evening of brand-new contemporary ballet, as well as vignettes from traditional favorites The San José Nutcracker and Giselle. Dalia Rawson, New Ballet’s Artistic and Executive Director, will provide insights, commentary, and context. In addition to her many professional credits, Ms. Rawson is also the choreographer of Giselle and The San José Nutcracker.
Kids 17 and under, college students (with ID), and teachers (with ID) get free admission to the galleries any time.

Art and music lovers can visit the San Jose Museum of Art free as part of the San Jose Jazz Summer Fest. Enjoy the music as jazz choirs, bands and ensembles from the Bay area “Wow the Crowd” for free! Concerts are scheduled from 12 – 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Free Individual Tickets everyday for kids, plus college students and teachers with ID.

- Free the first full weekend of each month with a BofA Bank of America ATM, credit or check card.
- Visitors ages 17 and under always receive free admission to the permanent collection galleries.
Free admission is to permanent galleries and special exhibitions. The Legion of Honor is two-fer. Admission to the Legion of Honor also gives you admission to the de Young (and vice versa).
Closed Christmas and Thanksgiving, but visit the site to confirm hours and if the museum is open.
