End summer with science: Immerse yourself in the natural world at the California Academy of Sciences’ annual Teen Science Night, a teen takeover night at the museum. Youth (ages 13-18) are invited to come explore the world of science at this free, fun-filled event.
Marian’s Notes: This is a fantastic night for teens at the Cal Academy! There is time for the kids to explore the Academy, talk to the partner groups and get info on partner organization’s teen programs. The teens can enjoy the Cal Academy without having to ‘wait in line’ or take a back seat to younger children.
About Teen Science Night
Each year, the California Academy of Sciences welcomes over 1500 teens to explore the museum and learn about science and nature. Attendees have the chance to freely roam the museum and engage with over a dozen local organizations about science, technology, art, and music. Teens who visit the California Academy of Sciences on Teen Science Night can choose what to learn about and when. Every Teen Science Night features a local teen DJ and reduced costs food from the Academy Cafe.
Who Can Come to Teen Science Night
Only teens (ages 13-18) are admitted to Teen Science Night. Parents and other adults are not permitted (with the exception of chaperones and teachers from partnering organizations). The event is free and tickets must be reserved in advance. Guests and bags are subject to inspection.
Important: Leave your backpacks at home. Small bags, like drawstring backpacks, can be kept with you during the event, but normal sized ones must be checked at coat check- which usually has a very long line- so we strongly recommend leaving them at home.
