2023 Berkeley Bay Festival | Berkeley Marina

Celebrate Earth Day at the Berkeley Marina. Enjoy live music, food, and activities for all ages. Connect with the community through live music, food, and hands-on educational activities

This free family-focused event celebrates the Bay, its local wildlife, and the people and agencies dedicated to its protection. Over 30 environmental and wildlife conservation organizations from around the Bay will share their exhibits with the public.

Visit each organization’s table for interactive games, science knowledge and live animals! Visit the Shorebird Park Nature Center, Adventure Playground and even take a free boat ride. 

Music and entertainment scheduled: 

  • 11:00 am – 11:45 am : Opening drum circle – Everyone is welcome to join and bring your own drum or percussion instrument
  • 11:45 am – 1:00 pm: Cool Operator – Reggae dance band
  • 1:25 pm – 2:25 pm: Makuru – High energy West African dance band
  • 2:45 pm – 3:45 pm : Los Boleros – Buena Vista Social Style Cuban music

Food vendors include: Brown Cap Organic Ice Cream, Curbside Kitchen, Roaming Bean Coffee, Dojo Dog, Royal Egyptian, and Southern Jazz Kitchen. 

Waterfront Scavenger Hunt

Everyone is invited to join the Waterfront Scavenger Hunt, which will take place from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

The event takes place at the beautiful Shorebird Park in front of the Shorebird Nature Center. The Nature Center building is an example of environmentalism in action, with its sustainable straw-bale architecture and its marine conservation and education programs.

2022 Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival at Memorial Park

This fun family festival honors Cupertino’s sister city relationship with Toyokawa, Japan by sharing Japanese arts & culture with the entire community. Hours are from 10 AM to 5 PM, admission is FREE, entertainment is FREE, and parking is FREE at De Anza College (Lots A&B).

Outdoor entertainment is held at the Amphitheater and includes Taiko drum groups, Japanese dancers, various martial arts, and musical performances throughout the day.

Throughout the lawn areas will be arts and crafts exhibits and special interest groups such as Japanese dog and koi fish clubs. Children’s activities feature games, hands-on arts & crafts, and a petting zoo.

Indoor cultural exhibits and demonstrations take place throughout the day in the Quinlan Community Center, featuring music and dance performances and cultural displays, demonstrations, workshops, and hands-on activities presented by professionals, non-profits, and special interest groups.

Japanese cultural arts and crafts vendors and a pictorial timeline of Cupertino’s sister city relationship with Toyokawa will be grouped at the “Japanese Artisan Pavilion” located at the Cupertino Senior Center and patio.

Food and drink include sushi, spam musubi, gyoza, Asian chicken salad, yakisoba, mochi, teriyaki chicken skewers, hot rice, shave ice, fruit bowls, kettle corn, cotton candy, coffee, smoothies, beer, sake, plum wine, sodas, and lemonade.

SFJAZZ Girls Day

Free, interactive workshop in sound recording for female/gender-expansive students ages 13-18

This hands-on workshop will introduce girls and gender-expansive youth ages 13-18 to the ever-evolving art and science of the recording arts. Topics will include microphone placement, signal flow, and effects processing.

Ideal for musicians of all levels and abilities; no sound recording experience is necessary.

But mostly, the girls will have a great time celebrating their music!

Disney On Ice Into the Magic 2023

Disney On Ice Into the Magic comes to the Bay Area October 19-22, 2023 at Oakland Arena and October 26 – 29 at SAP Center.

Disney on Ice San Jose Dates and Times

The timing is excellent for parents! Let your kids wear their princess, engineer, and other costumes to Disney on Ice, Thomas and Percy’s Halloween Party, the NorCal Ren Faire, and other Halloween events.

Ticket prices range from $20-$100 for regular tickets. $25 for the upper level, $25-$55 for the mid and lower level, and $75-$100 for the first two rows.  These prices are approximate and may change depending on the date and location.
