SAT Test Registration – Last Day for November Test Date
Today is the last day to register for the November 3, 2018 test date without incurring late fees. Registration must be done by 8:59 pm Pacific (11:59 Eastern).
If you need to take the test and you’ve missed this deadline you can still register for test as late as October 24, 2018, but you will have to pay a late fee. Late fees range from $28-$46. Link to register.
Visit CollegeBoard.org for more information and to see a list of subject tests available for that day.
Check with the colleges on your lists to determine the last date by which you can take the SAT/ACT. On the CollegeBoard.org site you will also find a list of the dates when the scores will be released.
Current cost for the SAT (test only) $45 or $57 (test with essay). The costs are subject to change. There are also fee waivers. If you expect to get a fee waiver, then start early. Click here for more information about how to get a fee waiver for the SAT test.
Don’t Forget About College Fairs!
Why should students (and parents) attend College Fairs? Read an exert from my Silicon Valley Mom post, College Fairs in the San Francisco Area
College Fairs are a great way to connect with a large number of colleges in the least amount of time. Our favorite result of attending college fairs is that we (my son and I) felt that colleges were chasing us as opposed to the other way around. One of the advantages (and disadvantages!) of living in the SF Bay area is that our ‘local’ schools are Stanford, CAL, Santa Clara University, and UC Santa Cruz. These are some of the most popular schools not only in California but the nation.
Another advantage of registering at a college fair is that your child’s information (should you choose this option) is shared with colleges throughout the US so colleges that are looking for students that fit your child’s profile will get your information and can then contact you/them. In this way, your child can learn about schools that they may not have initially considered. So your child should register for the fairs even if they cannot attend. If you purchase something through a post on our site, CelebrateFamily.us may get a small share of the sale.
