Scholarships & Grants Workshop (online) via San Jose Library. Join a program on the importance of scholarships in a financial aid plan hosted by the District 4 Youth Advisory Council and the Berryessa Branch of the San Jose Public Library.

Scholarships are a recommended component of any thoughtful financial aid plan. In this workshop, we will explain why you should plan to apply to as many scholarships as possible. We’ll explore where and when to look for scholarship opportunities and help you find opportunities that you are eligible for.

Together, we will also explore common financial questions and challenges that students experience in college and how to access free tools that can support you.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Describe what a scholarship is and compare it to other types of financial aid like grants.
2. Name at least one resource to explore scholarships for free.
3. Set a SMART Goal to research and/or apply to scholarship and grants this year.

Presented by Meredith “Mer” Curry Nuñez, the Owner & Principal Consultant of AdvancED Consulting, LLC. An East Side local and Piedmont Hills graduate.
