Cupertino's 8th Annual Fall Bike Fest

Strap on a helmet and bike to City Hall on September 25 for Cupertino’s 8th annual Fall Bike Fest! Here are some of the vendors and activities you’ll find at this year’s festival, being held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.:

Bike Rodeo: Safe Moves will erect a mini city and skills course where kids can learn the rules of the road and bicycle handling skills. *

Family Bike Ride: Join Bicycle Pedestrian Commissioners for a family-friendly bike ride at 10:30 a.m.*

Helmet Fitting: Community group Walk Bike Cupertino will make sure your bike helmet is properly adjusted. They will be handing out bike safety wings to the first 15 people who get their helmet adjusted.

Bike Safety and Reliability Checks: Community Cycles of CA will make sure your tires have air, your brakes are working, and your chain is well-lubed. Come early. There may be a line! No major repair jobs, please.

Ask a Mechanic: A mechanic will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about how your bike works.

How to Lock Your Bike Clinic: Come to a clinic to learn how to lock your bike securely to prevent your bike from being stolen. Clinic time TBD.

Bike activities: How much can you carry by bike? How many kids can you haul? At our last in-person Bike Fest, the winners of these competitions could carry 12 bags of groceries and haul 3 kids! Can you beat the records? Participate in this and other fun bike activities hosted by Cupertino Safe Routes to School and West Valley Community Services.

Art and Poetry: Bring your creativity!

The Youth Environmental Power Initiative will be hosting a couple of bike-related art activities. Decorate the Bike Fest with your dreams! Create a flag that illustrates your vision of the Regnart Creek Trail, and how you hope to spend time on it once its construction is complete.

Write a Haiku about biking on a flag with Cupertino Poet Laureate. We will fly your poem in the wind at the Bike Fest.

Biking Books and Videos: The Cupertino Library will have books and videos about biking on display inside it’s Go Go Biblio vehicle.

Trailhead Cyclery: Stop by to say hi to your friendly neighborhood bike shop who will be showing off their wares.

Cargo Bike Demo: Cargo bikes change lives by allowing people to carry almost anything by bike: kids, groceries, you name it! Check out Yuba’s various bikes and see how the cargo bike revolution is enabling people to live a car-free lifestyle.

Other: Cupertino’s Community Emergency Response Team will be on hand to provide first aid should it be needed, and Friends of Stevens Creek Trail would be happy tell you about their latest projects.
