Thurgood by Jonah Winter
Known as a one-man weapon against the discriminatory laws against Black Americans, Thurgood Marshall was a giant of the Civil Rights Movement. As a lawyer, he argued and won legal battles before the Supreme Court, including one of the most important cases in American history: Brown v Board of Education – which unanimously ruled that racial segregation of children in public schools to be unconstitutional. Thurgood then went on to become the first Black U.S. Supreme Court Justice in history.
